Blogger can make money from a blog but how? During a training session last night, I asked how as a blog writer I was suppose to make readers aware of products and services I had to offer when they come to my blog site. After all, I am working very hard to produce quality content that I think would interest readers.
So who was the first blogger?
I found this video and it tries to answer of who was the first person to blog. Really interesting stuff. And the video is well done.
Now Back to Making Money!
Basically, I was told that I needed to add advertisements to my blog. Something so simple, but something I had not done yet thinking that should come at a later date.
Of course in my mind, placing ads on my blog would be the logical thing to do. And I have done so. I did some research about this and found some interesting and conflicting information as well. I offer my own two cents based on a little common sense as an advertiser and, more importantly, as a consumer.
Have a Plan
A large amount of bloggers have issues attempting to make money from their blog posts. This is because they do not have a plan for making money with their blogs. Making an income from a blog site involves finding out what works the best. This is because not all blogs are the same, and they have different target audiences.
So, in order to make your site successful from an earnings standpoint, you should be ready to try out many strategies and see what works. However, there are certain strategies that I have learned of which provide promise when it comes to making money.
Use Affiliate Offers to Earn Money as a Blogger
Use affiliate or mlm offers as a method for earning income from your blogging site. Simply suggest a few affiliate products to readers. Referring your audience to a product indirectly through one of your posts is something that will make your readers more receptive to your offer.
Hard Core Selling? Oh, NO!
This is a totally different method of selling from hardcore selling as you are providing content about the product or a subject relating to the product.
As a content writer you introduce to the reader a solution to a problem through content that interests the reader. This is a targeted sales approach.
The hardcore sales approach plasters advertisements all over the internet with little regard to the target audience.
If you as a content writer are helping your reader by providing informative blog content, you have a good chance of converting that reader into a sale.
Advertisements And Adsense Ads On Your Blog
One of the most heavily used methods for making money from a blog site involves placing advertising on the site. So, if the reader is interested in your post and goes to the site, there is an advertisement there for the product or service mentioned in your post or related to the topic of your post.

I actually read an article that said you should not place advertisements on your blog if it is a new . You should wait until you have a lot of readers. I think the author of that article is missing the boat entirely. Since you are trying to make money from your website, you have one chance and one chance only in most cases to convert the reader into a buyer. If you are giving your readesr content and not a hardcore sales pitch, then you need to have advertisements on your site to bring your offer to the attention of readers. Always include an advertisement on your blog site that relates to the topic of the post. You can never start advertising too soon.
If you do not have a specific product and you write about subjects that are outside the main topic of your niche blog, then place Google Adsense ads on your site. You may choose to write blog content about a hot keyword which has nothing to do with the niche of your site. You simply are attempting to attract more traffic. Adsense can help create revenue from this type of post by presenting ads that may relate to a specific post. If readers click on the Adsense ad, then you get paid.
It is good to use Adsense ads. But do not go overboard. If a reader comes to your site and does not purchase one of the offers highlighted there, the reader may see something in the Adsense ad that interests them and will click on that ad. When the reader clickson an Adsense ad , you get paid.

Do not forget to ping your blog posts, spin your blog posts, and create backlinks to your blog posts. Remember bloggers, with no blog traffic, you will not need to worry about advertising.
